Neuro-Ophthalmic conditions
are diagnosed and treated under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Blace.
Oculoplastic Surgery is provided by Dr. Blace, Dr. Relly Chern, and
Dr. Simeon Lauer.
Ocular Oncology and Uveitic Disorders are cared for under the
direction of Dr. Pearl Rosenbaum.
Retinal & Vitreous services, including conditions such as diabetic
retinopathy and macular degeneration, as well as retinal detachment,
are provided by Dr. Jonathan Levine and Dr. Isaac Moradi.
Pediatric Eye/Strabismus/Ocular Motility Disorders are treated
by Dr. Scott Afran, Dr. Judith Gurland, and Dr. Lily Zhu-Tam.
Special Diagnostic Testing, including Humphrey Visual Field,
Ultrasonic Biomicroscopy (UBM), Ocular Coherence Tomography
(OCT), GDx Nerve Fiber Layer analysis, Fluorescein Angiography
(FA), Fundus Photography, and IOLMaster are provided by
Certified Ophthalmic Assistants and Technicians, including Anna
Marie Buruzan COT, Doris Cartagena COA, Melissa Matthews
COA, Evelyn Quijano COA, and Sylvia Ramos COA.
This year marks the beginning of Bronx-Lebanon’s Optometry
Residency Program, under the leadership of Dr. Barnie Lim, and in
conjunction with State University of New York College of Optometry.
Working with Dr. Lim is Dr. Lily Zhu-Tam, a Pediatric Optometrist.
Other optometrists include Dr. Luz Amaro-Quirreza, an expert in
electro-physiologic testing, Dr. Ben Freed, Low Vision Specialist,
Dr. Nancy Laifer, Contact Lens Specialist, and Dr. Jacob Shafran.
In memory of Dr. Nona Ionita, an ophthalmology resident who
tragically passed away in an overseas automobile accident, plans
are moving forward to develop an Ophthalmology Learning Center.
The department’s main base of operations is 1650 Grand
Concourse. Satellite services are provided at the BronxCare Poe
and Third Avenue Practices, as well as Family Wellness Center.
Emergency eye care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |
