Glaucoma is a condition that impacts the optic nerve and can lead to permanent vision loss if undetected and untreated. We provide comprehensive eye exams for early detection and vision preservation. Dr. Leela Raju is the Director of Global Ophthalmology for BronxCare. She works with the Eye Foundation of America and travels to multiple countries, including India and Mongolia, to help provide surgical cornea care for patients and teaching for local ophthalmologists. She also welcomes residents and medical students on her numerous international trips over the past 18 years.
Neuro-ophthalmologists evaluate vision problems from outside the eye—such as problems in the eye muscles, nerves of the eye, and/or vision pathways in the brain. Our specialists collaborate closely with other BronxCare specialties to oversee the care of complex cases. Neuro-ophthalmic care is available at the Eye Care Center, 1650 Grand Concourse, 2nd Floor.
