BronxCare's physicians, nurses, and employees were recognized as heroes in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic through a special light show sponsored by Empire Entertainment.

Corporations and Foundations from across the nation and the world recognized the heroic efforts of the BronxCare team in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, BronxCare received generous donations of PPE, including masks, gloves, face shields, goggles, gowns, hand sanitizers, and sanitizing wipes, in addition to financial contributions. Community organizations and local merchants, as well as individuals from the metropolitan area and beyond, also donated food items, energy drinks, sparkling water, iPads, laundry services, sneakers, and socks, as well as breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, among numerous other contributions to help the BronxCare team.

BronxCare employees also received more than 6,000 gift baskets as part of an overall contribution from the Debra and Leon Black Family and Aramark launch “NYC Healthcare Heroes,” in partnership with the Mayor’s Fund, Robin Hood Foundation, and American Red Cross, to provide shelf-stable food, household supplies, and health products to New York City’s 100,000 plus Healthcare Heroes.
