Electronic Medical Records Educator

BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital system, now has an excellent opportunity for an EMR Educator to be responsible for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Clinician Training Program.

The EMR Educator will create training materials and provide end-user staff training in Allscripts/Altera EHR, including onboarding of new physicians. Additional responsibilities include improving EHR documentation, reducing bill holds and denials, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Assistant Director, Social Work

Senior Infection Control Coordinator

BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital and health system, now has an important opportunity for a Senior Infection Control Coordinator. The Infection Control Program and staff in place at BronxCare are achieving the highest level of safety for patients, employees, and the community.

The Senior Infection Control Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Infection Control and hospital Epidemiologists to assure compliance with risk management, claim activities, and reporting of communicable diseases. Consultations with employee health services regarding employee health programs, including health risks related to infectious diseases/infection control, as well as monitoring problems throughout the health care system concerning surveillance of communicable diseases and standards of practice are essential components of this position. Additional responsibilities include reviewing documentation on maintenance of sterilization equipment/sterilization supplies; monitoring proper utilization of isolation rooms; and providing leadership in the development/education/enforcement of infection control protocols, as well as participation in research, in conjunction with the Director of Infection Control and other staff. Development/ implementation of policies and procedures that ensure rigorous infection prevention and control standards throughout the BronxCare Health System, in addition to working with the New York City Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control in addressing High Alert Outbreaks, Pandemics, and Public Health concerns, is also most important to this position.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or Public Health, as well as License/Certification in Epidemiology or Sanitation through the Centers for Disease Control or comparable program is required. Three years of Health Care Infection Control experience, in addition to a demonstrated knowledge of general, clinical, and environmental microbiology in the control of infection among patients, employees, and visitors in a health care facility, is also needed.

Infectious Disease Physician

Social Workers

At BronxCare, Social Workers lead, learn, and educate, as well as collaborate across the full spectrum of key areas, providing discharge planning, transition of care, and education.

  • Outpatient Social Workers (two positions available)
    Under the direction of clinical supervisors, Outpatient Social Workers are responsible for determining and assisting in the resolution of patient/family issues and working with an interdisciplinary team in providing patient care, preparing statistical reports, and serving as a liaison within the department, hospital, and with community agencies. Activities and related efforts will also be directed to assuring the smooth functioning of the social work program.

    Master’s degree from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work and a minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience in providing social work services within a hospital, medical, or mental health setting are essential. LCSW/LMSW required. Bilingual abilities are also preferred.
  • Inpatient Level (three positions available)
    Inpatient Social Workers will utilize their experience in providing psychosocial services as well as coordinate discharge planning and a continuum of care for patients and families. Inpatient Social Worker will also assist in enhancing the capabilities for assigned patients in coping with illness, crisis situations, and daily functioning.

    Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and New York State License as an LMSW are required. Limited permit is needed for newly graduated social workers (must provide exam date prior to start of employment). At least one year of prior Social Services employment preferred.
