Nurse Manager (Maternity)

The nurse manager is responsible for the mother/baby unit (67 beds), including 30 beds designated for newborns. In this key role, the Nurse Manager will foster a Family-Centered Approach and assume responsibility for a staff of over 30 employees. Staff development and application of evidence-based practice are also essential.

New York State Registered Nurse license and BSN, as well as a minimum of two years progressive maternity leadership experience required. Masters in Nursing preferred. Evidence of effective communication skills, creative problem solving, and membership in pertinent professional organizations are also essential.

Case Manager

BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital and Health System, now has an excellent opportunity for a Case Manager to assist patients in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services. Responsibilities include direct assistance in coordination of care, case oversight, and linkages to appropriate programs. Case managers also assess patients to determine respective needs and develop an individualized Care plan, as well as assure effective discharge planning.

Requirements: NYS Registered Nurse license and BSN required. Minimum of three years clinical experience in nursing preferably in hospital case management, as well as understanding of InterQual and Milliman Care Guidelines. Knowledge of DRGs and GMLOS, Managed Care, and Regulatory Requirements, including Peer Review Organization (IPRO) and other Third Party criteria and standards are also essential

Nurse Manager, Post Anesthesia Care Unit

BronxCare Hospital Center, a major teaching hospital, now has an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Manager in its Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

The Nurse Manager will provide and integrate clinical leadership and management of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) on a 24-hour basis, including overseeing an 11-bed PACU and 9-bed Ambulatory Surgery Unit with a staff of more than 30 employees. The PACU areas cover a wide variety of surgical cases.

In this leadership position, the mission, vision, and values of the organization will be promoted, and an environment of excellence in patient/family service, growth, and staff development, as well as the application of evidenced-based practice, will be sustained.

Current Registered Professional Nurse Licensure in New York and Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required (Master's in Nursing preferred). ACLS, BLS, PALS and minimum of two years PACU progressive leadership experience is essential, as well as an ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others. Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills, creative problem solving, and membership in pertinent professional organizations is also integral to this key position.

Clinical Resource Manager, Operating Room

BronxCare Hospital Center, a major teaching hospital, now has an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Resource Manager, Operating Room.

The Clinical Resource Manager (CRM) is the clinical leader for the Operating Room (OR) nursing practice. Advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical nursing expertise in the operating room, evidence-based practice, collaboration, education, mentoring, and change leadership. These specialized skills are applied within the operating room to ensure excellent care and enhance the patient and family experience.

The Clinical Resource Manager also leads the orientation and ongoing education for the perioperative services department. The CRM assists in identifying and developing performance improvement opportunities while exploring specific clinical outcomes related to implementing the Quality/Performance Improvement Program. In addition, the CRM promotes positive Customer Service with Internal and External Customers.

NYS Registered Nurse License required (Master's in Nursing preferred); BLS, PALS and ACLS required. Minimum 3 years’ operating room experience with certification in relevant clinical area, and Nursing Professional Development preferred.

Assistant Clinical Manager, RN, Emergency Department

BronxCare Hospital Center, a major teaching hospital, now has an important leadership position for an Assistant Clinical Manager in its Emergency Department. BronxCare’s ER is among the busiest and best in the New York Metropolitan Area responding to 139,000 visits annually. It is a 911 designated Stroke and Heart Attack treatment center and also operates six ambulances as well as receives cases through the 911 system.

The Assistant Clinical Manager will be an integral part of a highly experienced and dynamic team of physicians, nurses, and staff that are successfully addressing and treating adult and pediatric conditions, as well as mental health problems. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Clinical Manager will provide essential assistance in staffing; scheduling; reinforcing, and enhancing the patient experience; and in reviewing and evaluating nursing sensitive quality indicators. Responsibilities include shift accountability and delivery of care at the nursing and physician levels, in addition to participating in staff selection, retention, and performance management. The Assistant Clinical Manager will also be actively involved in advancement of the professional practice environment and in communicating the Emergency Services nursing strategic direction.

New York State Registered Nurse License and BSN, as well as BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred (within six months of hire).
