BronxCare Health System

Optometry Residencies

BronxCare offers two Optometry Residency Programs: a one-year Ocular Disease/Primary Care Optometry residency program, directed by Dr. Alanna Khattar-Sullivan, as well as a one-year Pediatric Optometry/Ocular Disease residency program, co-directed by Dr. Danielle Crane and Dr. Alexis Pelowski

Both Optometric residency programs at BronxCare are affiliated with SUNY College of Optometry and attract the highest level of candidates. Graduates of these residency programs are highly sought after for academic and clinical practice opportunities.

The Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) has granted both the Ocular Disease/Primary Care Optometry Residency and Pediatric Optometry/Ocular Disease Residency at BronxCare Health System the status of “Accredited.” Accredited is a classification granted to an educational program indicating that the program generally meets the Standards for accreditation. For more information, see ACOE's website at www.theACOE.org or contact the ACOE at accredit@theacoe.org
