Resident Education continues to be core to the department’s mission. “We had our second year of successful recruitment through the ACGME match and recently received reaccreditation from it. Our latest resident survey also demonstrated that all our indicators regarding resident satisfaction with their education to be above the national average,” stated Dr. Sherman. In 2017, Icahn School of Medicine students began rotating through pediatrics, and the hospital continues to be a pediatric clerkship site for the American University of the Caribbean. Educational experiences for pre-medical, college, and social work students are also continuing.
