    Dr. Mahendraray Dave, Chief, Division of Nephrology, specializes in the treatment of chronic kidney disease and dialysis. The Division of Nephrology provides in-hospital dialysis, consultations, and out-patient nephrology, including an out-patient dialysis unit. The dialysis unit provides services to 180 patients, three times a week. It includes three board certified nephrologists with extensive experience in the Bronx community where there is a significantly high incidence of hypertension and kidney disease.

    Dr. Dave's many activities include clinical services and the supervision of the dialysis unit. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology. He has extensive experience in clinical research activities, multiple publications in peer review journals, and previously served as President of Bronx-Lebanon's Medical Board (from 1999-2000).

    In terms of his educational background, Dr. Dave received a Master's Degree at University, Baroda, India, as well as a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees and residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital & Medical College, Baroda. He also completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital & Medical College, Baroda and fellowship in Nephrology and Metabolism at Bronx-Lebanon. Dr. Dave has been an active member of the Bronx-Lebanon medical staff for more than 38 years, assuming his lead position as Chief in 1990.
