Urgent Care Physician

BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital system, now has an excellent opportunity for a full-time or part-time Family Medicine Physician to join its Emergency Department team working in an Urgent Care setting. The department provides more than 30,000 annual pediatric visits and 90,000 adult visits. It offers 24-hour cardiac catheterization and is designated as a Level II trauma center, primary stroke center, heart attack PCI treatment center, and Level III Geriatric Emergency Department.   • Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist
    to provide diagnosis and individualized treatment of communication, voice, and swallowing disorders to patients of all ages in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

    Qualified candidates must have Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, American Speech & Hearing Association Certification, current New York State License in Speech-Language Pathology, and a minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience. Proficiency in independently performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies and Fiberoptic Endoscoptic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) examinations is also required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.   • Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist
    to provide coverage during staffing shortages, weekends, and holidays (as needed) in evaluating and treating adult patients with communication, voice, and swallowing disorders, as well as pediatric patients with feeding disorders in an inpatient setting.

    Candidates must have knowledge of head and neck cancer, tracheostomized patients, and use of Passy Muir Speaking Valves, in addition to accurately documenting patient evaluation and treatment notes in the electronic medical record. A minimum of two years in a clinical setting and experience with FEES exams preferred. We offer a competitive rate of $60 per hour.

Social Workers

BronxCare Health System now has important opportunities at the outpatient and inpatient levels in its Department of Social Work. At BronxCare, Social Workers lead, learn, and educate, as well as collaborate across the full spectrum of key areas, providing discharge planning, transition of care, and education.

  • Outpatient Social Workers (two positions available)
    Under the direction of clinical supervisors, Outpatient Social Workers are responsible for determining and assisting in the resolution of patient/family issues and working with an interdisciplinary team in providing patient care, preparing statistical reports, and serving as a liaison within the department, hospital, and with community agencies. Activities and related efforts will also be directed to assuring the smooth functioning of the social work program.

    Master’s degree from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work and a minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience in providing social work services within a hospital, medical, or mental health setting are essential. LCSW/LMSW required. Bilingual abilities are also preferred.
  • Inpatient Level (three positions available)
    Inpatient Social Workers will utilize their experience in providing psychosocial services as well as coordinate discharge planning and a continuum of care for patients and families. Inpatient Social Worker will also assist in enhancing the capabilities for assigned patients in coping with illness, crisis situations, and daily functioning.

    Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and New York State License as an LMSW are required. Limited permit is needed for newly graduated social workers (must provide exam date prior to start of employment). At least one year of prior Social Services employment preferred.

Infectious Disease Physician
