Dr. Ronald Huang, Attending, Joint Replacement Surgery, discussing surgical options with patient.
Dr. Ronald Huang, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Clinical Fellowship Director, Joint Replacement and Adult Reconstruction, and Dr. Jonathan Robinson, Orthopaedic Surgeon/Joint Reconstruction Specialist, lead the clinical efforts in this area. Each patient is thoroughly evaluated in the preoperative phase and closely monitored during their surgery and post-operative follow-up.
As innovators in the design and techniques of joint replacement surgery, the team provides patients with the full range of available options. Both Dr. Huang and Dr. Robinson also utilize Mako, an advanced robotic-arm-assisted surgery technology for joint replacement. “This technology makes surgery more consistent and lets us address the more complex cases we see in our practices,” stated Dr. Huang. “Implant precision and boney cuts are where this Robot truly excels,” stated Dr. Robinson.
The joint replacement team has also added a comprehensive episode of care program supported by the national company Force Therapeutics. This allows for the preoperative and postoperative capture of patient-reported outcome measures, critical to the ongoing monitoring and success of the program. The department’s Director of Clinical Services, Monica Cintron, RN, coordinates all aspects of this modern and cutting-edge program. She interfaces with all patients, ensuring optimal clinical coordination throughout the healing process.
